Manual entry is available for either full LRSID values or Control Section values. Control Section entry automatically appends -1-010 before mapping. You can also enter coordinates in Google Maps order, Latitude, Longitude (Y / X in WGS84) to return the nearest LRSID and measure, then push those values into the manual entry boxes. File upload is available on demand through the upload panel button.

LRS Mapping Application Help

Overview

This application allows users to map Louisiana DOTD LRS route segments using LRSID and measure ranges, upload multiple records from Excel/CSV files, perform XY lookups, and identify measures by clicking directly on the map.

Manual Segment Mapping

  • Enter an LRSID, From Measure, and To Measure.
  • Select Map Manual Segment to display the segment.
  • Select Add Segment to append additional segments without clearing the map.

Uploading Multiple Records

  • Select an Excel, CSV, or JSON file.
  • Required fields:
    • LRSID
    • From Measure
    • To Measure
  • Select Load and Map.
  • Each uploaded row receives a status and optional Zoom button.

Out-of-Range Status

  • Mapped = successfully mapped.
  • Mapped with Warning = partially outside valid measure range.
  • Out of Range = measures fall outside the route's valid range.
  • Yellow rows indicate warnings and red rows indicate out-of-range records.

Click-Measure Panel

  • Expand the right-side Click-Measure tab.
  • Click anywhere on the map to retrieve:
    • LRSID
    • Measure
    • Coordinates
  • Use the panel buttons to copy values directly into the manual entry fields.

XY Lookup

  • Enter coordinates in Google Maps order: Latitude (Y), Longitude (X).
  • Select Find XY to identify the nearest route and measure.
  • Example format: 30.500000, -91.260000.

Basemaps

  • Use the Basemap dropdown to switch between:
    • OpenStreetMap
    • Light Gray
    • Topographic
    • Aerial Imagery

Tips

  • Hover over buttons and controls for quick help tooltips.
  • Use the row-level Zoom buttons after uploads to zoom to individual records.
  • The DOTD logo opens the Louisiana DOTD website.
